NextGen Public Advancement (NPA) hereby announces an opportunity for qualified professionals to apply for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the upcoming leadership term, in accordance with the organization constitution under chapter four, sections 17 and 18.
The CEO serves under the Board of Directors and is responsible for overseeing implementation of organizational activities, strategic operations, and departmental coordination. The appointment shall be made by the Board of Directors after review of eligible applicants.
The current CEO remains in office until completion of the current term. The selected candidate shall undergo a structured transition process before assuming office.
Constitutional Position of the CEO :As provided in the constitution, the Chief Executive Officer:
1. Shall be appointed by the Board of Directors.
2. Shall serve as head of the Secretariat.
3. Shall coordinate departmental operations and execution of organizational plans.
4. Shall remain accountable to the Board of Directors.
5. May continue serving if the Board maintains confidence in performance and approves continuation.
Key responsibilities: The appointed CEO shall:
1. Oversee all organizational activities in line with NPA mission, vision, and objectives.
2. Coordinate implementation of programs approved by the Board.
3. Prepare annual work reports and operational reports.
4. Appoint heads of departments subject to Board approval.
5. Build partnerships with government institutions, sponsors, schools, and partner organizations.
6. Represent the organization in official engagements.
7. Ensure implementation of Board resolutions.
8. Provide strategic recommendations to the Board for organizational growth.
9. Manage secretariat operations and interdepartmental coordination.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must:
1. Demonstrate commitment to organizational vision and objectives.
2. Show leadership ability, accountability, and good conduct.
3. Be willing to dedicate sufficient time and service to the Organization.
4. Possess strong communication and coordination capacity.
5. Have experience in leadership, project management, community development, or institutional administration (added advantage).
6. Have no proven record of misconduct contrary to organizational values.
Terms of Service:
This is a voluntary service position.
No salary, allowance, or financial compensation shall be attached to the office. The role is based on voluntary leadership service in advancing the objectives of NPA.
